The Organization of Nigerian Chaplains (also known as “Nigerian Chaplains”) is a united national body bringing together chaplains across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. We exist to protect the interests of chaplains, uphold high standards of chaplaincy practice, and serve communities in partnership with government agencies and the wider society.

The Organization of Nigerian Chaplains was founded by chaplains, for chaplains a single united body created to safeguard the individual, collective, and corporate interests of chaplaincy in Nigeria. We work to protect our members from exploitation and misrepresentation, to bring consistency to chaplain training and practice nationwide, and to build strong, lasting bridges between government agencies and the communities we serve.

At our core, we are committed to unity, progress, cooperation, and mutual understanding among chaplains of every background, tribe, and religion.

OUR LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE

ONC is led by a broad team of national officers, supported by zonal and state structures across the country.

Our governance runs through three key organs: the Executive Council, which serves as the highest law-making body between general meetings; the General Meeting (Assembly), where elections are held and major decisions are ratified; and a Disciplinary Committee / Presidential Taskforce, which safeguards standards across the organization.
